Reed Recommendation - Jones Medium Soft to start and then Jones Medium/Medium Hard as you advance.
Clarinet & Bass Clarinet
Mouthpiece Recommendation - Vandoren B-45 or Vandoren 5rv Lyre. A Rovner ligature. Specify Bb or Bass Clarinet.
Reed Recommendation - Van Doren is the premier brand (6th graders usually start with size 2 or 2.5. By the 8th grade, you should grow to size 3 or 3.5.) Rico Royal, Mitchell Lurie are also good.
Saxophone
Mouthpiece Recommendation - Selmer C Star S-8O, Yamaha 4C, or Meyer 5 Rubber. A Rovner ligature. Specify alto, tenor, or baritone saxophone.
